Kevin Watkins

Kevin Watkins has twenty-eight years of experience working as in-house counsel and in private practice advising businesses and local governments, with a unique focus on large commercial construction and clean and renewable energy projects. Kevin has a broad-based background that includes first-chair litigation experience and work as General Counsel for the first publicly traded solar energy company.

Kevin’s renewable energy work includes:

• Creating all contract documents for multiple renewable energy companies with industry changing solar systems;
• Drafting all commercial development, EPC and transaction documents for the new commercial division of one of the largest residential solar companies in the United States;
• Negotiating and drafting multiple EPC and related subcontract agreements with a large Midwest utility for over 26MW of commercial solar projects;
• Drafting and negotiating a 14 MW EPC contract for what was Hawaii’s largest utility scale solar systems;
• Drafting and negotiating multiple utility scale EPC contracts for several large New England municipalities and a Northern California school district.

In addition to his extensive and unique experience, Kevin’s strengths also lie in his ability to quickly and fully understand the nature and challenges of each project.
